Your privacy matters. Here is exactly what we collect and why — no jargon.
Who we are
StayBar (“we”, “us”) operates a digital concierge and minibar platform used by accommodation hosts (“hosts”) and their guests (“guests”). This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Hosts: name, email address, property details, bank payout details (collected and held by Stripe, not by us), and minibar/property content you enter.
Guests: we do not require an account. We collect the details needed to fulfil an order — the unit you are staying in, items ordered, and the email address you provide at checkout for your receipt. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
We also collect basic technical data (device, browser, pages viewed) to keep the service secure and improve it.
How we use it
To operate the platform: displaying property information, processing orders and payments, sending order notifications to hosts and receipts to guests, and paying out hosts.
To send service communications (such as monthly host statements). We do not sell personal information and we do not send marketing emails to guests.
Who we share it with
The host of the property you are staying at receives your order details and unit so they can fulfil your order.
Stripe processes payments and host payouts under its own privacy policy. Our email and hosting providers process data only to deliver the service.
We may disclose information where required by Australian law.
Storage and security
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We apply access controls so hosts can only see their own properties and orders. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint about our handling of it, by emailing privacy@staybar.vip. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes
